Hi Frey! Consistency levels a LOT of playing fields. So glad you are focusing on the value of showing up every day. It’s so hard but so worth it!

Hey Mack! Absolutely consistency really does level the playing field in a way nothing else can. It’s one of those things you know you need to do and is easy to understand but can still be hard to pull off. Such a simple word, but it has so many layers underneath.

You've taught me so much in just one post! I do find it challenging to keep up with everyone's posts and read all of the good material that other creatives spend time sharing. I need more hours!!! Thank you for your insight.

Holly, this means the world thank you! I totally relate to that feeling. There’s so much valuable stuff being shared, and never quite enough time to take it all in. Grateful you spent a bit of your time on mine. 💛

One thing I do is I add Author’s Notes at the end of most of my fiction and talk about the story, how I came up with it, tidbits about the characters or teasers about the next episode. I dunno if readers find it interesting, but I'm enjoying adding that flavor.

I love that you do this Author’s Notes add such a personal touch. As a reader, it makes the experience feel more connected, like we’re getting a peek behind the curtain. Even if some skip it, I think the ones who stay really value that flavor you mentioned. And honestly, if you’re enjoying it, that’s reason enough to keep going. It shows, and it adds heart.

I appreciate that. Sometimes it's a little trip down memory lane for me, too.

Thanks for this useful article, Frey. Very practical and helpful in the early stages of a Substack journey. I’ve tried many of these and have gotten great results. I recently discovered the cross-posting feature on Substack and actually have plans to try it but haven’t taken action yet. This article came at the right time to remind me :D

What is tl;dr?

Hey Carrie! 😊 "tl;dr" stands for "too long; didn’t read." It’s usually a short summary of a longer post or article kind of like a quick takeaway for anyone skimming. Super handy!

This is a great playbook for people who have time to work on their marketing, instead of just being buried in it.

For the some the invisibility isn't from a lack of good ideas. It's from being the designated "person who knows how to fix the conference room projector."

The only way to win is to stop playing the game and build your own leverage.

The new leverage is silent, works 24/7, and never asks for a budget increase. Would love to help someone by writing on substack.

The part where you mentioned about the two sections of consistency was splendid. Most creators don't go such deep into un-yearning the real meaning of 'consistency'. Although Dan Koe talks about his one-person business strategies and 'Be your Own Niche' funda, I believe you've done a better job at distilling the elements.

Also, I'm in the process of learning about the nuances of Substack. Your post has offered me with valuable insights that are doable and will help me steer my strategies in the fruitful direction without running helter and skelter for the right information.

Thank you, Frey!
